The McAlpine Universal Non-Return Valve is designed to prevent backflow in condensate and waste pipework, protecting appliances and systems from contamination or flooding. It features universal compression connections for 19–23mm (3/4") pipework, offering a flexible, secure fit across a range of condensate drain configurations.
Internally, the valve uses a free-moving ball mechanism to allow one-way flow and block reverse flow. When installed vertically, this not only protects systems from backflow and contamination but also helps to reduce unwanted drain odours, especially in scenarios where a traditional water trap may be absent or prone to drying out.
With an overall length of approximately 93mm, the R28-NRV is compact, easy to install, and suitable for use with boilers, air conditioning units, and wastewater systems in both domestic and commercial environments. Maintenance-free and built for long-term performance, it’s a practical choice for ensuring hygiene and compliance in drainage systems.

Orders placed before 16:00 with next working day/timed services will be dispatched the same day (Monday to Friday). Orders placed after 16:00 will not be dispatched until the next working day. Orders placed on Saturdays, Sundays, or bank holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. "Next working day" means Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Orders placed with any of the services below will not be delivered on a Saturday or Sunday.
